Launch of Macmillan health and wellbeing events for women surviving female cancers Women in Rotherham recovering from breast or gynaecological cancer now have access to a unique series of events which will provide access to clinical nurse specialists and information and advice on benefits, financial support, diet and lifestyle and getting back to work. They will also be able to take advantage of a new buddying system offering emotional support on a one-to-one basis. more

Fat Women in the dark!! Carers 4 Carers is a Rotherham support group run by carers for carers of loved ones who have severe enduring mental health problems like schizophrenia and bi-polar conditions who care 24 hours a day. To try and maintain their health and offer carers some respite Carers 4 Carers have recently been awarded a sum of money by NHS Rotherham to enable them to introduce female carers to swimming and aqua aerobics. more

Rotherham patients and families to benefit from new essential standard of care From April 2010 new essential standards of quality and safety are being introduced gradually across all health and adult social care services in England. The Care Quality Commission (CQC), the new independent regulator of health and adult social care, will license services if they meet essential standards and constantly monitor them to make sure they are compliant with new legislation about to be passed in parliament. more
