Decision time

When an issue, complaint or request for joint work is received by LINkrotherham it is taken to the LINk Governing Board who decide whether we will work on the issue or not.

If we decide to go ahead with a project then normally a task group is set up to work on the project.  Each task group is different some will meet face to face others will communicate by telephone or e-mail.  Some groups will only run for a couple of weeks, some for a couple of months and some for longer.

Below are details of the projects we are currently working on.

Laughton Common Project

Do you live in Laughton Common?

Do you find it easy to get to your Doctor?

Laughton Common is a small but growing village near Dinnington.  The area includes a mix of residential areas and industrial areas.  Laughton Common does not have many local facilities and people have to travel to Dinnington or the surrounding area to visit a GP.

LINkrotherham is working in partnership with the Laughton Common TARA (Tenants and Residents Association) and the local Heritage Pharmacy to carry out a piece of research to determine whether Laughton Common now justifies some form of GP provision within the village.

Update 03.02.11 - The research has now been finished and a report written.  The report is out for approval at the moment and is scheduled to be sent NHS Rotherham week commencing 7th February.

Update 19.07.11 - LINkrotherham will be meeting with NHS service providers and commissioners later this month to discuss the situation in more detail.  Watch this space!
