Decision time

When an issue, complaint or request for joint work is received by LINkrotherham it is taken to the LINk Governing Board who decide whether we will work on the issue or not.

If we decide to go ahead with a project then normally a task group is set up to work on the project.  Each task group is different some will meet face to face others will communicate by telephone or e-mail.  Some groups will only run for a couple of weeks, some for a couple of months and some for longer.

Below are details of the projects we are currently working on.

GP Involvement Groups

As part of the Government changes local NHS (not including hospitals) will be phased out over the next 3 years.  GP Practices will join GP Consortia who will be responsible for running the community health services that the NHS currently run.

To make sure that the GP Consortia are offering services that local people want they will have to speak to their patients much more than many GP's currently do.  LINkrotherham is working with a small number of GP’s in Rotherham who are keen to work with their patients to improve the service they provide.

We have recently visited Stag Surgery in Wickersley and Greenside Surgery in Greasbrough to carry out a patient involvement survey.  This survey asked people if they would like to be involved with a patient involvement group and if so what the best method for contact would be for them.

The results of the survey were written up into reports and shared with the surgeries.  Both practices are now in the process of setting up a patient involvement group.  LINk will continue to support this work.

If you would like more information or are a GP practice that would like to be involved in this project please contact a member of the LINk Support Team.
